CASTLE AND MANSION

The present

A CHARMING PLACE WITH A FAMILY BACKGROUND

The ruins of Hrádok Castle together with the adjacent manor have long been a dominant feature of Liptovský Hrádok and the picturesque part of Upper Liptov.

The ruins of Hrádok Castle together with the adjacent manor have long been a dominant feature of Liptovský Hrádok and the picturesque part of Upper Liptov. The ruins of the castle and the slowly crumbling manor have occupied the minds of people who were not indifferent to the fate of Liptov’s monuments since the 1930s. However, it was not possible to organize the rescue of this complex of monuments neither in the period of the first republic nor in the period of socialism.
The dilapidation of the buildings continued even in the 1990s, and locals and tourists were troubled by the sight of crumbling buildings. The situation could not be reversed despite the unceasing efforts of the management of the Liptovsky Museum in Ružomberok and its organizational unit.

The Castle and Manor building has been uninhabited since 1989. The premises were unheated, exposed to unwanted visitors. At this time, valuable accessories and parts of the interior belonging to the Castle and Manor building were also stolen.

In 2001, when Dagmar Machová visited the manor and castle ruins in Liptovský Hrádek, a vision of rebuilding and reviving the old manor, as well as reviving the importance of this beautiful region of northern Slovakia, was born in her mind.

At the end of the year, her company Avans s.r.o. bought the Castle and Manor and thereby expanded the company’s activities. The heroic plans for the restoration were closely related to the hope that Slovakia would soon become a member of the EU and they would like to contribute the best of Slovakia to the well-being of Europeans.

The entire area of the Castle and the Manor is to be made available to the public.

Based on its history and location, the Castle and Manor in Liptovský Hrádek is designed for meetings and conversations. It is a space that predetermines itself as a place suitable for artists.

In the future, in addition to accommodation in originally furnished apartments, the historic buildings will also offer spaces for cultural events such as concerts, exhibitions, receptions and conferences. The manor house, built by Magdalena Zai in 1603, is again becoming a European meeting place today, and the castle ruins are open to the public after the reconstruction. Only the floor of the western, higher tower of the old castle is being made accessible.
